Join us on a half-day guided kayak adventure from Larrabee State Park!

Get an excellent introduction to sea kayaking in the San Juans only 20 minutes away from Bellingham, WA. Includes “hands-on” instruction to acquaint new paddlers with safety procedures and equipment. Our three-hour day has 2+ hours of on-the-water paddling and exploration. If time allows, we stretch our legs on a Nature Conservancy protected island in the bay or a beautiful beach along the way, paddle the cove and explore the intricate geology and wildlife. This is one of our favorite tours to Wildcat Cove that’s good for the whole family!

Schedule: We offer 10am and 2pm half day tours. Custom trips available upon request.

All trips include a guided instruction and are great for beginners and experienced paddlers alike! All guests will be in stable fiberglass northwest made TANDEM sea kayaks. Weight limit is 250lbs per person.

  • This trip departs from the Larrabee State Park boat launch and spends three hours exploring some beautiful sandstone coastline.

    Driving directions can be found in confirmation email

    • 10:00am: Meet your group and guide at Wildcat Cove (in Larrabee State Park), help unload kayaks.

    • 10:15am: Gear up, discuss kayak safety, paddling technique, and the day’s route.

    • 10:30am: On the water! Enjoy the views, explore the coastline, and learn about the plants, animals, and history of the Salish Sea.

    • 11:30pm: Take a break at one of the many beaches, islands, or tide pools to check out the incredible wildlife.

    • 12:00pm: Back in the boats, there’s more to see!

    • 1:00pm: Land back in Wildcat Cove. Load boats and return safety gear.

    *Times vary based on start time

    • All kayaking related equipment (Tandem fiberglass sea kayak, paddle, pfd, spray skirt, guide, etc)

    • Experienced Sea Kayak Guide

    • Light on-water snack

    • Personal Gear (ie. footwear, clothing, sunglasses, etc)

    • Transportation to and/or from launch location

    • Discover Parking Pass (required for all WA State Parks -available for purchase on-site)

    • Guide Gratuity

  • Be prepared to get your feet wet!

    • Wind or rain break recommended

    • “Quick dry” shorts or pants

    • Sunglasses and/or sun hat are desirable.

    • Full water bottle (there is no potable water at launch site)
