Driving Directions, Meeting Locations and Ferry Schedules

Full-Day/Half-Day trips launch from Wildcat Cove in Larrabee State Park. This boat ramp is on Cove Road off of Chuckanut Drive (Highway 11) just south of Bellingham and Fairhaven. To get there from either direction, simply drive along Chuckanut Drive (Highway 11) in Larrabee state park, keeping an eye out for the brown and white boat ramp signs. Following those signs, turn west onto Cove Road (towards the water). Parking at Wildcat Cove requires a Washington State Parks Discover Pass. Bring yours if you have one, or pay $10 for a day pass when you arrive. http://www.discoverpass.wa.gov/

DIRECTIONS TO GOOSEBERRY POINT FERRY TERMINAL: The dock, (using the word terminal is a stretch of the imagination, it is really just a dock.) is located on Gooseberry Point, which is part of the Lummi Nation Reservation. From Bellingham (or further south):

  • Head north on I5 to exit 260.
  • Go left on Slater road (west) until you come to your first traffic light at Haxton Way. (there is a gas station and Silver Reef Casino on your left)
  • Take a Left, and follow Haxton Way about 6.7 miles to Gooseberry Point. Once on Gooseberry Point you will see signs for the right lane, which is for ferry traffic, so stay in the left lane in order to turn into the longterm parking area across the road from the ferry terminal.

PARKING:

Park at the long term gravel parking lot across from the entrance to the ferry terminal. Parking is free. Parking is also free, but limited, just across from the Willows Inn main entrance.

Lummi Island Trips meet either at the Lummi Island Ferry Terminal (Island side) or the Willow’s Inn outside the reservation’s office.

For Lummi Island Trips & Multi-Day Trips, please be sure to check the ferry schedules to ensure an on time arrival!
